So In this condition, normally what you do is format your computer, or you will find some software on internet aand follow the instruction and save the program it in the removable drive and copy some file from your pc and sent back to them and the will respond to you in 2-3 days

I have an alternative way to do it, which is unlock the account in local user policy, this method will work when the computer administrator not set any password

1.0 Restart your computer
2.0 Press F8 to interrupt , and access safe mode
3.0 Login as administrator (not password is require)

4.0 Right click on my computer select manage
5.0 Expend the local user and group
6.0 Highlight user folder
6.0 Right click on the account and select properties
7.0 Untick the disable, if you forget the old password , you can set new want

So now you can restart your computer and try to login with you old password

NOTE This apply for computer, which not set password for administrator

Disk clean-up –hang, compress old file

Disk clean-up –hang, compress old file

When performing disk clean up, my computer hang, I wait for 15 min it still the same, I restart my computer, it end hang up the same,

I try to find more information on Microsoft website, I found a related article which solve my computer problem

What I do is
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type regedit in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
3. Locate, and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches
4. On the File menu, click Export, and then click Desktop, type VolumeCaches in the File name box, and then click Save.

Note This step creates a backup of the VolumeCaches registry key. If you experience any problems after you complete the steps that are listed in this procedure, you can use this backup to restore the VolumeCaches key to its original state. To restore the key, double-click the VolumeCaches.reg file on your desktop, and then click Yes.
5. Expand the following registry key:

6. Delete the Compress old files registry key.

Window vista command prompt – General Failure

Window vista command prompt showing General Failure

In this post I would like to share with you regarding error message: GENERAL FAILURE, when you try to ping on command prompt, e.g. ping default gateway

e.g. 192.168.1.1 (depend on your default gateway)

Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:

General failure.
General failure.
General failure.
General failure.

Ping statistics for 10.10.3.2:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss)

When you received the above result, it some short like you network adapter is not working properly , no worry go further step which you can try to ping the loopback address: 127.0.0.1

127.0.0.1 -Loop back address that exists on every computer. For you to test whether you network adaptor is working?

Pinging 127.0.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms ttl="128

Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms ttl="128

Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms ttl="128

Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms ttl="128

Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

If you found that is working (Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0) means non-thing wrong with you network adapter.

This could be due to setting on the computer or software that you just install which not compatible

For my past experience, what I do is, I turn off my anti-virus then It work

anti-virus i'm using at the moment is McAfee- firewall

If you are using other anti-virus you also can temporary turn it off / temporary disable it , this is only to isolate whether this is due to anti-virus or not.
